The future Chairman of the Board of the Union of Artists of Udmurtia was born on October 24, 1918 in the Krasnogorsk region of Udmurtia in the village of Batanikha. His father, Mikhail Senilov, stormed the Winter Palace in 1917. The family moved from the village to Votkinsk - there were more educational opportunities there. After school, the young man enters a pedagogical school.
The craving for drawing took its toll and after the 1st year Andrei Senilov left for Izhevsk. There he became a student at the theater and art school. After graduating in 1939, he began his career in the October Revolution Club in the UdmurtArtist partnership. In 1942, Andrei Mikhailovich was drafted into the army. He went through the entire war as a mortarman and has military awards: Order of the Great Patriotic War, 1st degree, medals “For Military Merit” and “For Courage.” The last insignia was given to those who showed personal courage in battle - it is especially valuable among combatants. Even in difficult times, the artist found time for creativity - the portrait of Marshal Rokossovsky he painted was presented to Konstantin Konstantinovich.
After the war he returns to Izhevsk, where he meets his future wife, Serafima Alekseevna. The union of two creative bright people lasted until the artist’s death in 2008 - 62 years. Their son, Mikhail Andreevich Senilov, was born on June 4, 1951. He devoted himself to science - professor, doctor of technical sciences and dean of the faculty, author of many scientific works.
The first exhibitions in which Andrei Mikhailovich’s paintings took part were back in 1939 at the republican level. In 1953 and 1971, his paintings were exhibited in Moscow.
The artist had a certain style and experience, but a meeting in 1954 with Vasily Vasilyevich Meshkov turned the artist’s world upside down: he became interested in landscapes. Almost all subsequent paintings depicted the natural beauty of Udmurtia.
