Dear friends!

You are at the exhibition of works by Sergey Anatolievich Orlov - one of the most unusual painters and graphic artists of Udmurtia, honored worker of culture of the UR, professor of UdSU, member of the Union of Artists of Russia and Udmurtia, who exhibited his works in galleries and museums of Izhevsk, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Perm, Hungary and Finland.

The artist began with avant-garde art, participation in ethno-futuristic symposiums, as well as the movement "TANATOS-"Kunstkamera", which organized actions and performances devoted to neo-paganism, mythical understanding of the world and reunion with nature and the Cosmos.

That is why S.A. Orlov has a very interesting vision of the world: he believes that the true meaning of art is hidden behind the superficial and material, it is deep inside us, rooted in our distant past. This is certainly reflected in his works - they remind us of primitive art: cave paintings of animals, handprints, images of shamans. Such creativity is important to feel, to feel its influence on yourself: look closely at the spots, lines, dots, colors, shape, texture and material.

The artist often uses to create his masterpieces clay, consecrated by the monks of the Svyatogorsky monastery, which, again, refers us to the pagan art.

Enjoy the show!

The fire was crackling in a dark cave,
Throwing reflections on the low vault.
A savage, driven by passion irrepressible,
The animals depicted there a motley roundelay.
What guided the unskillful hand
In the cave gloom, in the midst of everyday affairs,
A hand hard at work, rough
Drawing a parade of animal bodies?
