Dear viewers!

Welcome to the folk museum-gallery "La bohéme artistique", to the exhibition "Born in the USSR".

We are glad to present to your attention the works of the successful and famous artist Henrikh Vereshchagin - Honored Art Worker of the Udmurt Republic, participant of the majority of republican art exhibitions since 1968, member of the Union of Artists of the USSR, professor of the Udmurt State University.

At our exhibition you can get acquainted with his art and immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the bygone era, as well as try to trace the paths of creative development of artists of the Soviet Union and artists of modern Russia; see how different contemporary art is from the socialist realist art of the USSR, and learn why this difference is so great.

For convenience and clarity we have divided the exhibition space into two zones. The first one contains works created from 1955 to 1991. The second zone includes paintings of the post-Soviet period, from 1991 to 2020.

Enjoy your viewing!

The USSR

It is in the forests, roads and fogs,
In the swamps, where the dawn swings,
In the sharp gloom and in the songs of tireless,
In the bloom of May, in the riot of October.
In the midst of rusty fields, where the wind runs through,
Where the virgin land breathes with humus,
It swells with rye blood,
A huge and clear country.
