On September 12-13, 2014, within the Year of Culture in Russia, Izhevsk hosted the City Book Festival "Read, Izhevsk!", the main idea of which was to activate the cultural life of the city and create conditions for personal growth and creative self-realization. Within the framework of the festival "Read, Izhevsk!" our art gallery "La bohème artistique" held an action "Exchange a book for a painting!" All collected books, as well as a painting by Pavel Kozhevnikov the gallery "La bohème artistique" donated to the Shaposhnikov family. The Shaposhnikovs are Valentina Konstantinovna, Nikolai Alexandrovich and nineteen other children and thirteen grandchildren. In 1989 the Shaposhnikovs created a family orphanage: "We love children, we discussed everything at the family council and with grandmother, she will help us. And we were given the opportunity to take the children and become mom and dad to them." Since then Valentina Konstantinovna carefully keeps the home, warming the children's hearts with the warmth of her soul, and Nikolai Alexandrovich supports his wife, protecting the peace of the household. We very much hope that the books will appeal to children, and we are happy to be able to give a piece of our warmth to this wonderful family.Curator of the art gallery - Rustam Bulatov and project manager of "La bohème artistique" - Maria Medveditskova.
